A citrus company, encompassing everything from field cultivation to packing and distribution, offers a wide range of jobs that can be classified into several areas: Agriculture, Manufacturing (Packing Plant), Logistics, and Management/Administration.

I. Agricultural Area (Field)

These positions are crucial throughout the year, with peak demand during the harvest.

Manual harvesting of the fruit, loading baskets or boxes in the field. This is the most common seasonal job.

Organization and supervision of harvesting teams, quality control of the harvested fruit and management of harvest planning.

Tree pruning (experience and chainsaw handling required), brush clearing, maintenance of irrigation systems and general agricultural tasks.

Handling of agricultural machinery (tractors, sprayers, wood/pruning waste shredders) and basic equipment maintenance.

Technical management of the crop, pest and disease control, fertilization plans, irrigation optimization and production monitoring.

II. Industrial Area (Packaging Plant or Packing House)

The packaging plant concentrates most of the jobs during the campaign (fixed discontinuous or seasonal jobs).

Key position. Sorting, selecting, and manually or semi-automatically packing the fruit according to size and category, and verifying quality. Requires agility and a food handler’s certificate.

Feeding the production line (fruit dumping), loading empty boxes, manual palletizing and strapping of the merchandise.

Switching on, configuring and adjusting specialized machinery (pre-calibration, electronic calibrators, netting machines or packaging robots).

Handling of agricultural machinery (tractors, sprayers, wood/pruning waste shredders) and basic equipment maintenance.

Control of the food safety and quality system (HACCP), sampling, monitoring of fungicide treatments and management of traceability documentation.

III. Logistics and Warehouse Area

These jobs ensure the flow of fruit in and the output of the final product.

Operating forklifts and pallet jacks for placing and moving pallets within the warehouse and cold storage, loading and unloading trucks. (Forklift operator’s license required).

Daily stock control, inventory management (physical and digital), warehouse organization and order preparation.

Route planning, fleet management, coordination of fruit inflows and finished product outflows, optimization of storage spaces.

IV. Management and Commercial Area

These are the support positions that enable the overall functioning of the company or cooperative.

Customer and market search, price and volume negotiation, export documentation management.

Billing, accounting, payroll management for field and plant personnel, and general administrative tasks.

Direction and supervision of the entire operation of the packaging plant, ensuring efficiency, quality and compliance with production deadlines.

Management of recruitment (fixed intermittent, temporary), contracts, training and labor relations, especially intensive during the start of each campaign.
